Fitness has always been a part of Steve’s life. He literally grew up in the aerobics room and his first job was cleaning a gym. He is now a co-owner and Head Coach of one. Like other members of his family, he was born with a competitive spirit. He is a three-time CrossFit Games Regional athlete, who also participated in the CrossFit Games in 2016. He’s also competed in the Granite Games as well as Wodapalooza. As a certified coach, Steve’s specialties are perfecting movements and pushing people to a new level of mental and physical strength.

Anna is a fitness veteran with over 30 years of relevant experience. As co-owner and coach at Cristini Athletics, she and her sons (Chris and Steve), treat every gym member like they’re a part of the family. Over the course of her career, she’s taught aerobics, step classes, kickboxing, bootcamp, spin, and even Zumba. These days, CrossFit is her program of choice. She’s a certified coach specializing in movement and mobility as well as weightlifting.

Chris has been a competitive strength athlete, coach and certified personal trainer for almost 2 decades.
He loves sharing his passion for strength training and wellness with others and teaching clients how to use fitness as a catalyst for positive change in other areas of life. He is a compassionate coach who is committed to helping clients reach their individual goals, through evidence-based methods and practical, long-term strategies.His favourite things about CrossFit are the focus on long term health, the strong sense of community and comradery and of course, throwing around a barbell!

At Cristini Athletics, Maria pours all her energy into running our Mommy Bootcamp classes. Every day, she inspires mothers to take time for themselves and use fitness to get healthy and build confidence. Put in the work and she’ll help you unlock your inner superhero!

Back in 2010 I had just heard of Crossfit and I happened to see a flier on the bulletin board at a local coffee shop for Crossfit Markham. I figured it must be a sign! I called the number and got Anna, she told me to come out on Saturday. The workout was going to be at the track at a nearby high school.

Saturday comes and as I drive in I see Anna tossing a bunch of weights and kettlebells off the back of her big red pick-up truck. She looks like a professional athlete and all I can think is, “no one has seen me yet, just turn around and back the hell outta here!”

I summon all my courage and get out of the car, walk over to Anna who says “Are you Sommer? Start carrying this stuff up to the track!”

At the end of class she said come to the house on Monday, some time after 6…..and more than a decade later, I haven’t left.

I can’t even imagine my life without it and I appreciate everything that I’ve learned about fitness, goals, hard work and personal accomplishment.

Movement has always been a big part of Nidias life. At age 11 she received a pull up bar for Christmas and the rest is history as they say. She went on to attend Humber college in the Fitness & Health program and would spend the next decade as a powerlifter. In 2016 she discovered CrossFit and though it was not love at first sight she would eventually fall in love with the community. In 2018 she found Cristini Athletics and went on to compete at nationals with Markham Powerlifting.

Chris is one of the three amazing co-owners at Cristini Athletics. He’s a highly-decorated athlete and scholar who’s studied the human body inside and out. He’s acquired multiple CrossFit certifications including weightlifting, mobility and recovery. As a coach, he specializes in optimizing human movement and performance. He believes mental strength is just as important as physical. He knows from personal experience how.

Monica is a two-time Canadian National Champion in figure skating. As a national team athlete she competed on the international circuit, highlighted by a top ten finish at Junior Worlds.
She knows the dedication and hard work it takes to reach your goals. She has been coaching athletes of all ages and abilities on the ice and in the gym since 2009.
Monica joined CrossFit in 2017.

Starting at the age of 16, MC not only discovered Crossfit, but also what it means to be balanced and feel good in her mind and body. She always thinks that achieving small little things in the gym makes you want to achieve great things in life. Building a strong, safe and healthy community has always been a strong motivation for her, this is why she likes coaching so much. She started coaching in Laval in 2017 and it has been her passion ever since, always aiming to be a better coach and athlete. Sabrina has been actively pursuing fitness since the age of sixteen. After obtaining a BA in marketing, she realized her real passion was human anatomy and movement. She obtained her CanFit Pro PTS and Reebok Spinning Certifications. She then received her Fitness, Nutrition & Leadership Certification. The next twenty years were spent in community centre and corporate gym environments helping people achieve their fitness goals.  Her love of long distance running and bodybuilding took a backseat once she discovered Crossfit. You will find her six days a week in the box training and learning from the best coaches in the Crossfit community.

Vanessa discovered CrossFit the summer of 2021, looking for a new challenge after 11 years of being a soccer player. After she started she Immediately fell in love with the sport and the community, she decided that she wanted to coach and got her CF-L1 shortly after. She is currently the director of the CrossFitTeens program as well as coaching classes throught the week! Although new to coaching Vanessa is eager to continue to learn and grow as a coach!

Brandon Crump is a staple in the CrossFit community in Ontario. His humble attitude and surprisingly deep voice are attributes that are hard to forget! He has been a coach since 2011 and has been a member of our CrossFit Games team since 2016.Brandon helps train our members for their individual needs.

Coach Brandon is also a mental health professional! He is currently working with clients on improving both their mental and physical health!

Hii I am coach Sandra, I am a full time Math and Phys. Ed teacher in Mississauga, at The Woodlands SS. I coach cross-country, powerlifting and track and field. I have always been very involved in athletics which turned into a fitness passion in university. I completed my degree in Kinesiology and started racking up the certificates in personal training and fitness instructing. I got into CrossFit because everyone told me I would love it, and I did! I am also a proud mom to my 2 year old son!
